As you already know, I will be running the London Virgin 2010 marathon this year and I have decided to stay an extra two weeks to visit this beautiful part of the United Kingdom. I have spent several hours planning our little jaunt, as to insure to see the finest parts and taking in the culture, without falling into any tourist traps... it's trickier than one would think. So basically here's the itinerary:

2) Southeast (3 days)
- Leeds Castle
- Down House
- Canterbury Cathedral
- Dover Castle WWII
- Dover White cliffs
- Rye Village
- Brighton & Hove
3) Wessex (2 days)
- Avebury
- Stonehenge
- Bristol
- Jurassic Coast
- Exmoor
4) Devon & Cornwall (2 days)
- Dartmor
- Exeter
- Isles of Scilly
5) Oxford (2 days)
- Cotswold villages
- Windsor Castle
- Oxford
6) London (1 day)
- Tate Modern
- Hyde Park
- Cabinet war rooms
